Owen Gotz 

I'm Owen — a first-year BSc student in Cybersecurity & Data Forensics at Middlesex University Dubai, expected to graduate in 2029. Before starting the degree I completed my high school diploma through Pearson Online Academy and gained hands-on IT experience as an intern with the DIFC IT Department, supporting infrastructure research and departmental operations.

Most of my practical learning happens at home. I run a personal server on Unraid handling media management, remote access via Tailscale and WireGuard, containerised services, and automated video processing with FFmpeg — the kind of environment where things break without warning and you learn to fix them properly. I find infrastructure work genuinely interesting, not just as a means to an end.

I'm drawn to the less glamorous side of computing: reliable systems, well-structured data, and understanding how things actually work under the hood. Currently building on that foundation through coursework and continuing to expand the lab.
